Network Rail Award

August 20, 2018

Thanks to our team’s ongoing efforts and substantial contributions to the North West Electrification Programme, WJ Project Services have received the prestigious Network Rail Award. Our engineers worked tirelessly to successfully deliver the phase 3 works, which saw the electrification of the Blackpool North to Preston route.

WJ Project Services installed new overhead line cables, commissioned new substations at Kirkham North and South (as well as associated systems), and conducted rigorous testing on the line before entering it into service in January 2019, We are proud to have been a part of the project which is a tribute to the ongoing innovation of our rail systems.

Network Rail acknowledged the hard work and continued effort of not only the WJ Project Services team but also of all other teams working on the phase 3 project. They said: “The Phase 3 engineering and construction teams have worked tirelessly and have shown great skill, collaboration and resilience across both supplier and network rail teams. Multiple award nominations were received. It is impossible to name all the individuals, to mention the myriad of challenges that have been overcome, and to identify all the great behaviours but you know who you are! Congratulations to all concerned on this massive achievement."
